Sarah Greenlee- Assignment 1

1. Cell phones may soon be powered by windmills so small 10 can fit on a grain of rice, and why stop at cell phones. This could replace the massive wind generators and reduce dependance upon electricity.

2. A temporary tattoo-like microchip can be placed on a tooth which detects unhealthy bacteria for teeth and has also been able to detect changes associated with stomach ulcers and certain cancers. If they could be further developed to be placed in the body, needs for tests would be eliminated and could allow for early detection of disease. Future could allow for microchips implanted, replacing needs for tests and creating a virtual file of your health information that can be scanned.

3. Scientists can turn algae into crude oil in less than an hour: being less expensive, cleaner, and more easily available than gasoline. This could power any transportation of the future and could be harvested using hydroponics and in sea-farms.

4. A video system analyzes six points in the sky, connecting them to a synthesizer and playing the harmonic voices through speakers allowing people that can’t see the sky to hear it. Future parks could be in 3-D domes using this to see the sky that can't be seen in a developed city.

5. A contact lens can create images directly within your contact allowing image quality as high as your eye can see images. It can deliver a full 3-D immersive image while you close your eyes. In the future, this combined with a lens that measures health factors could be combined.

6. A synthetic biological substance could be 3-D printed to your foot and could self repair and adapt to your feet according to pressure.

7. An interactive, live hologram can be used to interact with an image of a patient’s heart, incuding cut it open and view the interior. Future progression could allow full body holograms from different locations and visualization of the future of the body. http://futuristicnews.com/realview-3d-interactive-live-holography-from-science-fiction-to-science-fact/

8. Portable window sockets can generate power by using solar energy. Future energy could be supplied without sockets using solar panels throughout allowing automatic charge when near these.

9.  This water bottle takes two minutes to sterilize water by using a wind up UV light. Future water sterilization could be automatic and the sterilizer could be inserted into water and sterilize the entire body of water quickly.

10. Fiber optic tubes, like the Seed Cathedral, can be used as a new way to catalogue information within a building. Future catalogues could also contain a computer system to find it automatically and sort however you please.
