In less than 50 years, cars that drive themselves will be put on the market.  In 100 years, that is all that will be available, evolving the pace of daily life and the way that cities are built.

In the future, global communication and travel will have become so common place that the majority of people on earth will speak a new hybrid language consisting of English and mandarin Chinese.

With the creation of new lighter, stronger metal, buildings could be built way over ten times the typical skyscraper height today. Years from now whole cities would be miles above the ground, splitting society literally in two due to the newer “floating” cities being affordable to only the upper class. (“Star Wars”)

The pace at which cities grow and cultures communicate and travel will increase so dramatically that the entire planet will eventually be one giant city with a floating city ‘shell’ around the planet as well.

The technology to make a machine or cgi element follow the user’s movements accurately.  A robot following a human’s actions could perform tasks in which humans could not do physically themselves.

Use of eco-friendly robotic animals allows for humans to observe nature without substantial interference.

Inventing a way to live on other planets such as Mars, could drastically influence the world's economy with the added resources, of course transporation via space, and countless other aspects of life on earth.

Humans can use motion control technology to explore animal cultures and habitats without interfering and can also control robot bodies to terraform other planets without the risk of human lives. This could also allow us to assimilate into alien cultures unnoticed.

Instead of FaceTiming or Skyping and just seeing the other person, you could physically reach through the computer and be able to touch the person on the other end of the call.

Glasses with augmented reality that help people are already making with something called google glass, however, say in 50 years, to help memory and elderly, the glasses can recognize faces and routines and guide you throughout your day and remember faces with their names displayed biased on eye directions. Maybe it would create an augmented reality and people would rely so much on it, they forget how to use their brain for memory storage.
