Reid Tracy - Assignment 2: Electric Boogaloo

1. A bicycle that has a small power generator attached to its gears that, when pedaled, can power or charge electrical devices. The same technology could extend to electric cars that power themselves as they drive.

2. Huge walls of extremely dense air that can be deployed as invisible force fields to protect schools, government buildings, etc. from intruders.
-Fantastic 4
-The Incredibles

3. Tiny, reassembling, magnetic cubes (nanomachines) that can reconfigure their orientation to form different objects, machines, or larger robots.

4. A hoverboard with two metal discs on the bottom that use "quantum locking" to create a frictionless, radical new mode of transportation and many new extreme sports. Cars would also use "quantum locking" discs instead of wheels, reducing the use of fossil fuels as there is no friction and a hovercar would need less thrust to achieve the same speed.

5. Electric chemical computers that can receive chemical signals from your brain that can record your thoughts and emotions and upload them straight to future Facebook for the world to see. This type of computer would use less rare earth minerals than normal computers, thus reducing mankind's race to deplete them.
-Being connected online all the time evolves to being connected automatically always

6. A tiny chemical computer attached to the brain that produces specially engineered cells that float in your field of view on your eye to form a HUD like a natural Google glass.
-Google glass

7. All air is electrically charged so that phones and devices will be charged and powered just by being in contact with the air.
-Contact charging/wifi charging

8. Orbital drop shock troopers that can be deployed in a pod from a space station to anywhere in the world at an incredible speed and precision, using devastating and defensive, orbital deep strikes, so that enemies can not detect or shoot them down fast enough. This would increase the safety of the soldiers involved and the success rate of the engagements due to the element of surprise. The space station could also launch missiles or drop nukes from orbit onto a target with pinpoint accuracy.
-Halo ODST
9. In the future, children's card games will be played on tables with a code reader inside that can read the code on the back of the card, send the information to a small projector, and create a hologram so that players can actually see their monsters fight each other in their living room.
-Yu-Gi-Oh

10. Eventually the entire world will have wifi coverage and the very thought of not being able to connect to the internet or communicate with your friends will be unheard of and absurd. As a result, every single video game, phone, tv, and computer will have social networking capabilities built in by default and everyone will practically live online.
-Continued spread of wifi coverage and increased connectivity throughout the world
